• Location Data: Country/region for travel mode features (optional)
• Nutrition Data: Food logs, calorie intake, macronutrient tracking, and meal photos
• Personal Metrics: Weight, height, age, gender, activity level, and health goals
• Usage Data: App interaction data to improve user experience

• Calculate daily calorie and nutrient targets based on your profile

Your data is stored securely using Firebase and Google Cloud services. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

4. Third-Party Services

KcalScan uses the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In: For authentication (Google Privacy Policy applies)
• Firebase/Firestore: For data storage and synchronization
• Google Gemini AI: For analyzing food photos and providing nutrition estimates
• RevenueCat: For subscription management (if applicable)

5. Health Connect Data (Android)

If you choose to connect KcalScan with Health Connect, we may access the following data based on your permissions:

• Steps (StepsCadence/Steps): To precisely estimate your daily activity level, allowing the AI Coach to dynamically recommend earlier or later meal timings based on your actual movement.
• Calories Burned (ActiveCaloriesBurned/TotalCaloriesBurned): Essential for calculating your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE). This data allows KcalScan to automatically and accurately adjust your daily macronutrient targets based on your actual burn instead of relying on generic static formulas.
• Exercise Sessions (CyclingPedalingCadence/ExerciseSession): To provide critical context for your nutrition needs. For example, detecting a workout allows the AI Coach to suggest specific post-workout meals for optimal recovery and muscle growth, or to adjust meal compositions around your training schedule.
• Sleep (SleepSession): To directly personalize coaching advice. By analyzing your sleep duration, the AI Coach can suggest whether to delay coffee intake or adjust your morning nutrition to optimize energy levels for the day.
• Heart Rate: To refine calorie burn estimates during exercise.

Purpose: We use this Health Connect data strictly to power the core functionality of the AI Coach. It enables personalized nutrition coaching, dynamic adjustment of your daily calorie targets (TDEE), and real-time insights tailored to your actual metabolic state and activity levels.

Data Privacy: Your Health Connect data stays within your KcalScan account and is not shared with or sold to any third parties (including advertising networks, data brokers, or information resellers). We do not use Health Connect data for any purpose other than providing the app's core health functionality.

6. Your Data Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the app
• Edit or update your information through the Settings screen
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your data (available in app settings)
• Opt-out of data collection by deleting your account

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

KcalScan is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, notifying you within the app.

10. International Users

Your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using KcalScan, you consent to such transfers.
